The Opportunity
Our Emergency Response Team comprises experienced experts that respond to disasters globally. Emergence roster members will be on standby for deployment and contracted through Plan when selected for an assignment.
This position is responsible for assessment, response analysis, design, and implementation and monitoring and evaluation of the gender based violence components of PLAN’s emergency response. It is also responsible for ensuring that gender considerations are taken into account both in the development of programmes and in the structure organizational. S/he will conduct gender assessments and analysis in all areas where Plan CAR is present and where Plan will want to start new activities.
S/he will need to co-ordinate with other Emergency Response team members and PLAN staff, especially Implementation Management and relevant technical sectors, to ensure a rapid, proportionate and effective response. S/he will need to ensure response to immediate GBV issues with simultaneous consideration of longer-term needs and possible scenarios. The Specialist will need to take a very active role in technical co-ordination, support and advocacy with the country specific GBV sub-cluster and other stakeholders and technical agencies relevant to the sector
