Early Grant Information for NGOs
The Embassy continues to offer grants for well-conceived and managed projects that strengthen ties between the United States and Slovenia. Successful proposals will strengthen understanding of the United States, including its society, culture, politics and values, and support a priority themes listed below. New grantees with relevant, impactful proposals may be given preference over previous grantees.
Program Themes
For this grant period, additional consideration will be given to project proposals focusing on the following themes:
USD 1 MILLION Grants for Innovative Solutions to combat Water Scarcity
Climate Fund to alleviate energy poverty in Developing Countries
This Request for Applications is open to strengthening the Economic Development Efforts
Grants for African CSOs to implement activities in SGBV, SRHR, HP, and VAWG
Small Research Grants for the improvement of education
This grant-making trust inviting Charities to help Socially Disadvantaged Groups during COVID-19
Support available for NGOs working on social innovation, inclusiveness and sustainability
Advocacy grants to strengthen the voice of communities and grassroots activists
USD $250,000 to $2 million funding available for each selected partner to address Covid-19 impact in select countries
Funding provided through capital support for community development projects
Endowment Funding of € 25,000 for young people fighting for freedom
Small Grant Fund for protecting endangered animal species
Grant program for transforming women’s lives for hard to fund projects
Seed Funding for Youth-led Organisations: Invitation to Submit Proposals
Grant Opportunity to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and Future Pandemics

Funding Information
Grant range up to $3,000 to $5,000.
What are they looking for in a proposal?
Programs that build and enhance relationships between Slovenia and the United States through bilateral cooperation, highlight shared values, and promote mutual understanding.
Sustainable projects with strong merit and clearly defined goals and outcomes.
Projects that include acknowledgement of U.S. Embassy support and a plan to amplify cooperation via traditional or digital media.

Eligible Applicants: Slovenian educational and research institutions, public entities, and not-for-profits/NG0s/social enterprises.
Cost-Sharing or Matching — encouraged, but will not be a criteria for consideration in the panel review. Applicants should show any cost share in the budget proposal. If a project is done in collaboration with another organization, please provide a letter of support/commitment from the partner institution.
