This is a national position: 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster to our Sabodala mine site operations in Senegal.

The Projects Civil Coordinator will report to the Manager of Major Project/ Deputy Projects Manager to provide engineering controls and schedules management support to the Major Projects Department.

This position will be responsible for managing project support functions to the Construction Manager and the project delivery team.

Key Responsibilities

Provide budget support to the Manager of Major Projects/Deputy Project Manager.
Oversee the smooth running of project administration. This includes overseeing the smooth functioning of pronto/ interface with supply and timely cashflow advice to accounts and treasury.
Oversee projects document control.
Oversee contract administration tasks – this includes tracking project invoices in line with contracts, approved value, and cash flow. Support the Project Delivery team with administration and tracking of contract variations.
Oversee the development, tracking, and update of project schedules – provide timely advice to the Projects Delivery Team on progress and expected completion.
Oversee QA/QC activities, including management of QA/QC documentation.
Oversee the Major Projects Departments statutory obligations including (Bureau De Controle).
Manage the Major Projects Departments Project Engineers – ensure that Projects Delivery is getting required support.
Participate in department and inter-department meetings – where required produce and manage project minutes and notes (including follow up and reminders). This role will be required to chair meetings on an as required basis.
Oversee and monitor Civil Equipment weekly schedules
Effective management of the work schedules and team members
Work effectively and diligently to ensure timelines are maintained
Assist with the update of the Skills Training Matrix for the coordinators team.
Efficient use of time.
Required Skills & Experience

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the Mining Industry
An understanding of all Civil type works and equipment capabilities
Written and verbal communications skills in English and French
Effectively interpret drawings
A competent understanding of mechanics ensuring good care is taken with all machines.
Disciplined project management skills that have proven to be effective in a similar mining environment.
Ability to multitask several projects concurrently
MS Projects, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and ERP experience, Pronto preferred
Able to work independently & plan, prioritize, and organize.
Able to analyze and solve problems.
Good time management.
Demonstrate honesty and ability to work in a close team environment
Patient and adaptable with proven ability to work with a diverse group
Ability to recognize errors quickly and apply remediation/recovery with minimal interruption to project timelines
Must be able to work in a team environment
Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Must be able to work in a multicultural environment
Must be flexible with working hours and roster
