Company DescriptionSNV Zimbabwe, with support from Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), is implementing the Opportunities for Youth Employment (OYE) project, which seeks to improve the livelihoods and prospects for 10,000 out of school youths (among whom at least 50% are young women) by creating « green » employment and enterprise opportunities in agriculture, energy, and other emerging sectors. The project aims to sustainably increase youth employment and income by skills and capacity development of youth (push factor), linking these youth to market opportunities for employment and enterprise development (match factor) in growth sectors that have the concrete potential for employment creation (pull factor).
Job DescriptionDuring the COVID-19 induced lockdown period, the incumbent will be expected to work remotely from home inline with SNV’s business continuity plan. If the lockdown restrictions are relaxed at any point during the incumbent’s term, s/he will be stationed in Harare.
PERIOD OF PERFORMANCEFour days of every month
SCOPE OF WORKThree Data Clerks will support the Monitoring and Evaluation of the OYE data verification and entry processes for the first batch of Youth registrations. The Data Entry Clerk will further be expected to complete the following tasks:
Review data for deficiencies; resolving discrepancies by using standard procedures or returning incomplete documents to the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor for resolution;
Entering data into the OYE database and checking to ensure the accuracy of the data that has been inputted;
Creating data backups as part of a contingency plan;Responding to information requests from authorized members;Assist with maintaining data files and records in an orderly and accessible fashion;Implement other duties as assigned by the Monitoring and Evaluation Advisor.
Qualifications
SNV is seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:Must be college/university graduate;
Strong computer skills (able to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Formal computer training may be advantageous in progressing in this career;Strong written and verbal (English) communication skills;Able to work effectively in a team environment and with minimum supervision;Able to work under pressure in the fast-paced professional working environment;Detail-oriented, well organized, and responsive andAbility to treat confidential information with due care.
