Consultant Senior Analyst

Essential skills
The bilingual candidate (French and English) should have a minimum of one year of consulting experience with at least three years of overall work experience in digital financial services, preferably in multiple countries. The candidate should have substantial problem-solving ability, be a self-motivated, results-oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously. The candidate should be an outstanding team player who is able to seamlessly work with people at all levels and influence them. The candidate should be disciplined, with superb attention to detail and follow-up skills. They should be confident with project management tools and methodologies, possess financial acumen, and be able to understand the drivers to profitability for financial institutions. The ideal candidate should be an expert communicator with engaging story-telling and presentation skills.

Detailed responsibilities
• Participate or lead the planning and implementation of assignments involving project teams within one business unit or multiple business units.
• Develop and submit proposals to generate business—particularly for the Francophone markets in collaboration with other teams in Asia and Africa
• Brainstorm with teams to deliver solutions to complex business problems for areas of responsibil-ity where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
• Conduct client and marketplace analyses that include secondary and primary research
• Summarize key findings
• Create succinct and logically-structured written reports
• Work collaboratively with fellow consultants and client teams
• Use technical and analytical expertise to study clients’ missions, value propositions, strategic focus, and stakeholder requirements. Then, be able to help envision an end-state using knowledge of best practices and research into them to lead organizations.
• Contribute ideas to the team to solve organizational challenges by applying analytical methodol-ogies to reduce costs, provide a competitive advantage, or address a pressing business problem
• Make use of knowledge of mathematical and statistical concepts, computer science, or domain expertise to bridge the gap between business challenges and technical and analytic solutions.
• Support projects, including implementing large-scale organization transformation initiatives, con-ducting studies and analyses on business process reengineering, or reviewing and assessing current organizational practices to identify structural, cultural, and leadership changes that would im-prove the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization
• Learn, demonstrate, and apply organizational strategy methodologies in combination with robust data analysis, including quantitative or qualitative and develop conclusions and strategic recom-mendations
• Contribute to the development of curricula, deliver training courses, and ensure quality control
• Serve as a thought leader in the development of deliverables, including blogs, reports, and client presentations to display MSC’s areas of expertise.
• Draw broader lessons, insights, and opportunities from projects and share them formally and informally with MSC colleagues in both French and English
• Interact with senior management levels with a client or within MSC or both, which involves nego-tiating or influencing on significant matters.
• Conduct “quality of delivery” or feedback assessments with team members after assignment ex-ecution in line with the quality control guidelines
• Create trusting relationships with clients

Qualifications and competencies
Academic and professional qualifications
• Diploma (Master / BAC +5 minimum) in commerce, economics, social development, or design.
• Master in Business Administration is an asset.

Experience
• Consultant should have 6-8 years of experience, 1+ years of experience in consulting or equivalent role, including the practical application of strategic frameworks, methodologies, and approaches to address organizational challenges, 3+ years of experience with organizational improvement efforts, including analyzing current-state quantitative and qualitative data, summarizing findings, developing conclusions, and making strategic recommendations, 3+ years’ experience in digital financial services, preferably in multiple countries.
• Experience or proven interest or both in the following topics: digital financial services, fintech, SME or SME entrepreneurship, youth employment, financial product design
• Experience with identifying business opportunities
• Experience with task leadership or project management
• Experience with Microsoft Office and Google tools, Basecamp, SPSS, and CRM will be an asset
• Skills and competencies
• Ability to work on small or cross-functional project teams
• Ability to work on multiple projects at one time
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills of profitability drivers of financial institutions
• The ideal incumbent will have been proficient in project management tools and methodologies, financial acumen and understanding
• Proficiency in French and English is a must
