Linum Consult hiring a Civil Project Manager in Senegal.

Linum Consult’s client is an international mining company well established in Africa.
They are looking for a French- and Wolof-speaking Civil Project Manager to join their team in Senegal on a rotational basis of 3 weeks on, 1 week off.

Your main responsibilities as a Civil Project Manager
• Managing the relevant contracts, scheduling, planning, cost control, reporting, procurement, recruitment, and construction activities on a village relocation project
• Establishing KPIs and managing the tracking and reporting within the company’s established project control framework
• Managing and reporting on project milestones and budgets, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain the agreed upon schedules, costs, and quality
• Liaising with the management team of the existing mining operation and corporate office, ensuring satisfaction and agreement with the project deliverables and timelines
• Ensuring timeliness and completeness of all project reports and plans
• Anticipating problems and proactively mitigating all risks that may hinder the success of the project
• Interfacing regularly with key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle in order to ensure execution is in-line with commitments and expectations
• Participating in corporate and site development activities such as scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies as required
• Mentoring and developing employees

Job requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ideally with an additional technical qualification in Construction
• At least 10 years of experience in construction, specialising in civil engineering works on mine developments, and previous experience on a village relocation scheme
• At least 5 years’ experience in people management
• Expertise with project management processes; project controls, work planning & scheduling, and contract management
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of MS Project and MS Office software
• Strong cultural sensitivity awareness, with a strong sense of community spirit and respect
• Fluent in French, Wolof, and English
