General Operating Support Grants fund museums, arts organizations, and local arts agencies; applications are tailored for the size of the organization’s budget.
Funds may be used to supplement general operating revenue. These grants are competitive and panel-reviewed.
Funding levels are contingent on many factors, including resources available, number of applications, the written grant application, and demonstrated organizational excellence. A two year grant can be re-evaluated and adjusted by the appropriate UA&M board if deemed necessary.

In order to receive general operating support, the applicant must be primarily an arts organization or museum.
An arts and cultural organization is defined as an entity with a primary purpose of providing arts, creative, or cultural programming/services.
A museum must have a physical location in Utah that is open to the public and maintain an active collection.
UA&M staff may assess this according to the organization’s mission, purpose statement, and/or by its summary of core organizational programs and services.
Organizations must be based in Utah. For Utah-based 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organizations or government agencies that are:
Arts organizations-organizations with an arts-based mission.
Museums- Art & non-art museums with a physical location in Utah that are open to the public and maintain an active collection
Designated Local Arts Agencies (through the Division of Arts & Museums) that function as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization, government agency, or a hybrid of the two.
