 Organizational Setting
 The post is typically located in Bong or Lofa County under the Office of the FAO Representation in Liberia of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
Reporting Lines
 Under the overall guidance of the FAO Representative in Liberia, the Agriculture Technician will work closely with the NPC to implement the project “Integrated Sustainable Rice System Development”. The Agriculture Technician will work closely with the NPC to implement the joint project.
Technical Focus
 The Agriculture Technician will be supervised by the National Project Coordinator and will develop detailed work plan, prepare and timely submit monthly progress reports.
Tasks and responsibilities
Support to NPC to prepare a detailed work plan as per assignment;
Supervise the coordination, organization, monitoring and overall implementation of project activities in assigned county Bong or Lofa;
Supervise the receipt and distribution of inputs (seeds, tools and agro-processing equipment);
Provide technical support to all agricultural activities of the project;
Ensure proper involvement of beneficiaries, MoA and other stakeholders within the County;
Set up a monitoring and evaluation system to monitor the progress of beneficiaries in the crop value chains (production, post-harvest & management practice, Value addition);
Support the NPC to prepare a  timely monthly update, progress and terminal reports;
Support the NPC to develop a well-defined exit strategy;
Ensure FAO comparative advantage is visible throughout implementation areas;
Support NPC for organization and facilitation of meetings and workshops;
Perform other duties as reasonable for successful project implementation.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
 University BSc Degree in Agriculture;
Fluency in written (both reading and writing) and spoken English and working knowledge of the local language(s) is required
Computer literate
Minimum Three years of working experience, of which at least two years are related to extensive experience in Agriculture;
Must be Computer literate
Candidates should be nationals of Liberia;

 Knowledge and experience in coordination of field works.

Fluency in reading, writing and communication skills in English
Very high skills/knowledge of background related to the ToR’s Requirements
Experience with UN, and other international Organizations would be an asset
Past experience working in the UN/FAO and other international systems preferred
