Job Description:
The main responsibilities of this role will be to manage all aspects relating to the structural and mechanical engineering disciplines of the project, including general engineering, asset management and project initiatives. The incumbent will work closely with operations, contractors and design consultants
Responsibilities:
Supervise mechanical Engineering design work carried out by consultants
Engineering oversight on studies
Assist with compilation of capital estimates on feasibility studies
Ensure company standards are adhered to
Review and approve design drawings and designs
General site support
Provide leadership and guidance on projects as and when needed
Participation in tender adjudication and technical recommendations
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Registered as a Professional with ECSA
GCC Mines and Works
10 years’ experience in the mining sector
Materials Handling experience essential
In depth understanding of relevant safety and mining legislation including Mine Health and Safety Act and Minerals and Energy Act
In depth knowledge of mechanical and structural engineering disciplines
Understanding of Environmental standards
