Job Description:
 The Finance Manager will work alongside the Group Treasury, Group Tax Manager, Group FP&A and Group Controllership. The successful candidate will be responsible for functioning of country treasury operations, compliance with tax legislation, budgets, business plans, financial reports and applying policies and procedures complying with IFRS and local GAAP, ACCA.
Responsibilities:
  Responsible for implementing and preparing list of requirements to be delivered on a monthly basis to support income statement and balance sheet positions
Responsible for delivery of financial reporting packages on a monthly basis
Responsible for closure of audits within the defined timeline
Responsible for bridges between local GAAP, ACCA and IFRS
Reviews and corrects entries for all open items in the month end balance sheet reconciliations
Provides appropriate mechanisms for on-going reconciliation and review
Balance aging, bank reconciliation, provision/write-off review, analysis and action
Responsible for understanding, reconciliations and documentation of Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP) and Intercompany (IC) transactions
Compliance with all AR, AP, IC policies and procedures
Works as interface between the local Finance teams and Auditors
Responsible for preparation of the financial statements, management accounts, financial reporting packages, budgets, forecasts, journal entries, maintaining of company’s books and records in accordance with IFRS, ACCA and local GAAP.
Directs, applies and controls policies and procedures.
Provides timely and accurate internal and external financial reports.
Maintains and builds relationships with banks.
Supports Group Treasury on Financing or re-financing projects across the country
Supports Group Treasury in liquidity management – development and implementation of common cash management solutions (e.g. invoices discounting, receivables factoring etc.)
Cash forecasting and local cash flow management, including preparation of 12-month cash flow forecast. Conducts monthly review of cash forecasts
Supports Group Finance with short & long-term intercompany loans, deposit, loan agreements and coordinate cash movements and monitors liquidity/cash flow impact and management
Ensures that forecasts and budgets prepared are in line with Group FP&A policies and procedures
Compare financials to budget allocation in order to analyze and identify variations and optimize
Responsible for the preparation of all tax filings and reporting in compliance with regulations
Ensures timely filing of tax returns
Monitors tax risk mitigation
Responsible for monthly tax account reconciliations, deferred tax calculations and related tax accounting topics
Responsible for preparation of estimates for inclusion in tax provision; budgeting; and forecasting
Responsible for accounting for uncertain tax positions and related interest
Ensures that all proper agreements in line with tax law are in place when taking deductions in tax returns
Reviews & evaluates the contracts with suppliers & customers and recommends actions
Contract and pricing management
Performs monthly audit and review of payroll and related costings
Analyzes the usage of existing Oracle modules or other Financial Software and recommend proper action and modification when necessary.
Develops procedures and instructions necessary to ensure effective planning, operation and control of the department’s activities
Requirements: Qualification and Skill
  This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Commerce/Business and a minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience in related field – is a must/preference
Chartered Accountancy qualification – is a must
Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power point
Working knowledge in Oracle systems, Hyperion, BI Tools and Cash Management tools
Strong grip over IFRS, ACCA and local GAAP
Knowledge of emerging market banking products and working experience in emerging markets
Knowledge of financial statement preparation and financial statement analysis, including an ability to analyze cash flow and the impact on the financial statements
Administering tax audits, adhering to tax regulations
Investigating new tax laws and developments and identifying issues that may arise in tax dealings
Ensuring quarterly and annual income tax provisions, record keeping of foreign income tax filings
Ensuring reconciliation of income tax accounts and calculation of income tax payments
Self-motivated with strong multi-tasking proficiency, project management and organizational skills
Efficient time management is critical to success in this position.
Plans and utilizes resources effectively to deliver the organization’s objectives and manage change where necessary.
Ability to quickly adapt to changes.
Ability to produce and present financial information to be used at all levels of the organization
Have a methodical, process orientated approach with rigorous attention to detail
Good understanding of activities within the controllership organization and the responsibilities of financial controllership.
