Applications Open for Samuel Rubin Foundation’s Grant Program

Applications Open for Samuel Rubin Foundation’s Grant Program

Deadline: 20 April 2020

The Samuel Rubin Foundation is inviting applications for its grant programs to carry on the vision of its founder, Samuel Rubin, whose life was dedicated to the pursuit of peace and justice and the search for an equitable reallocation of the world’s resources.

10+ Funders for Agriculture, Food and Nutrition
10+ Global Donors for Improving Lives of Children in Poor Countries
10+ Donors that believe in building NGO capacities for Civil Society Development
15+ Donors for Saving the Planet: Grants for Environment, Conservation and Wildlife
The Foundation believes that these objectives can be achieved only through the fullest implementation of social, economic, political, civil and cultural rights for all the world’s people.

The foundation has an open application process because they are interested in learning about organizations they are not familiar with that are working for peace, social justice, and human rights. At the same time, they are a small foundation and receive hundreds of worthy applications every year. Unfortunately, the problems are much larger than their budget.

Funding Information

20+ Donors standing up for Human Rights and Equality
10+ International Donors seeking to improve Access to Water, Hygiene and Sanitation
20+ Global Donors for Empowering Women and Girls
25+ Donors for the Empowerment of Youth
The majority of grants are $5,000. The Foundation typically does not award more than one grant per fiscal year per organization.

Eligibility Criteria

The Foundation only awards funding to organizations classified as tax exempt by the IRS, or to organizations that are sponsored by a U.S.-based tax-exempt organization.
There are no geographic limitations, however organizations based outside the United States must be sponsored by a U.S.-based organization with tax-exempt status.
No grants are made to individuals, for building funds, or for endowments.
All applications are reviewed by the Foundation’s Board Members. Applicants are notified of the Foundation’s decisions via email within a week of its meetings.
