Description Created in 1979, Action contre la Faim is a non-governmental organization that fights against hunger. Its charter of humanitarian principals- independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been part of its identity for more than 35 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of under-nutrition, particularly during and after emergency situations linked to conflicts or natural disasters. Action contre la Faim focuses its actions on 5 main areas of expertise: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health and Care Practices – Food Security and Livelihoods – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. In 2016, Action contre la Faim provided aid to 14.7 million people in more than 49 countries worldwide. www.actioncontrelafaim.org 

Context: Myanmar – Yangon

Length of contract12 months, starting on November the 15th, 2019.

The position:

In close collaboration with the Country Director, you will support the development of high quality funding proposals, reports, concept notes, external communications, including overseeing the proposal development and reporting processes.  In addition, you will also support project cycle management across projects with a focus on donor compliance.

 

More specifically, you will be in charge of :

Leading the optimization of grant and program management processes

  • Improuve program management processes and tools
  • Build capacity for program and support staff on new processes, report writing, proposal writing and donor guidelines/regulations
  • Follow up on monthly processes as well as grant-cycle specific processes
  • Support the MEAL Officer in capitalizing learning from report outcomes

Ensuring compliance with donor guidelines and regulations with regards to grants management and reporting

  • Focal point for questions related to donor regulations, for discussions with donors and IDRU on ongoing programs
  • Coordinate responses to requests for information from donors
  • Develop a compliance fact-sheets

Leading all internal and external reporting processes

  • Develop and update tools for tracking and planning both internal and external reporting processes
  • Support to program team in compiling, editing or otherwise completing internal and external reports
  • Ensure that internal reporting processes are streamlined and simplified as necessary

Ensuring effective coordination of program development processes

  • Support the Country Director of program development and strategic issues
  • Develop and update tools for planning proposal processes
  • Support to program team in compiling, editing, or otherwise completing proposals

 Ensuring effective coordination of programs integration

  • Support the Country Director in overseeing the progress of programs implementation
  • Coordinate and promote thematic and sectoral synergies, and cross-cutting issues
  • In collaboration with the Country Director, elaborate, support and monitor full integration of programs activities
  • Promote cross-sectoral teamwork and skills development for program team members
  • Focal point for promoting Gender Equality and ACF Gender Minimum Standards within the humanitarian and/or development work.

Ensuring coordination of partnership management

  • Support the Country Director in partnership development and management
  • Coordinate contractual and reporting processes for partners

 

In aim to conduct successfully your missions, you will be travelling within Myanmar that may often require visiting and working in remote and low-resource environments.

 

The applicant:

You hold a Master’s degree in fundraising, public relations, communications, development, humanitarian aid or international relations.

You have a minimum of 3 years experience in an NGO, development fundraising from institutional donors (DfID, ECHO, EU, SIDA, SDC, CIAA) and in a multi-cultural environment.

You are known for your capacity to work under pressure and your creativity.

You have a proven ability to write clear and concise reports as well as meeting the deadlines of donors. Above all, you are willing to support others members of the team and to share workload.

You speak and write English fluently as well as advanced command of Word and Excel (mandatory).

Furthermore, you have strong representation and negotiation skills, experience in working in a consortium structure as well as being familiar with key the program areas (nutrition, health, WASH, Food Security and Livelihoods, DRR, Protection).

 

Status:

Salary and profits:

  • Monthly gross salary from 1 805€ to 2 305€ upon experience.
  • Per diem and living allowance: 432€ net  – paid in the field
  • + 16% of monthly gross salary as reimbursement of retirement insurance for non-French citizen.

Transportation and accommodation:

  • Coverage of transportation costs to and in the mission.
  • Individual room in guesthouse covered

 Medical coverage: 100% coverage of medical expenses + repatriation insurance.

 Leaves and RnR: 

  • 25 days of paid leaves per year.
  • + 20 RnR per year.
  • + 215 € at each RnR period (every 12 weeks).
  • Coverage of the transportation expenses to the RnR area of reference.
