The public call for project proposals is one of the activities within the activities “Leaders in Action: Emancipation and provision of services within humanitarian and emergency practices during the pandemic”, which is implemented as part of the project Women in Elections in BiH (hereinafter WIE), funded by the Government of Sweden.

In ten local governments, during its activities so far, the WIE project has established very close cooperation with administrations, especially structured focus groups and through smaller infrastructure interventions, capacity building, counseling on improving local social services, and activities related to local gender action plans.
The aim of this public call is to support the creation and publication of clearly designed media initiatives that will promote and enhance an understanding of the importance of examples of women’s leadership in the country, especially during the COVID pandemic.
The public call is aimed at supporting the production or co-production of media content on the topic of women’s leadership in primarily, but not exclusively, 10 partner local government units, namely: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Gracanica, Laktasi, Ljubuski, Nevesinje, Olovo, Sarajevo-Stari Grad, Tesanj, Zenica.

Goals
The goals of the public call are:
To promote activism, social engagement, and advocacy of women during the COVID pandemic,
To recognize and affirm good practices of women leaders at a time when the primary challenge is mitigating the effects of the crisis,
To design media initiatives to inspire women’s leadership and to help affirm women’s leadership, especially during the COVID pandemic,
To open a media space for debate on the need to change social norms regarding traditional gender roles, and to open a dialogue on the necessary systemic and structural changes (eg in the social protection system, public services, inclusive employment measures, etc.) that will have an emancipatory potential for women in BiH.

Financial support for media initiatives per individual project with which it is applied cannot be lower than 5,000.00 KM, nor higher than 10,000.00 KM.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligible legal status of the applicant: Participation in this public call is open, on an equal basis, to all associations/associations/foundations engaged in media activities that are formally registered in accordance with the applicable legal regulations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Direct beneficiaries within this public call are associations/associations/foundations engaged in media activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina and which meet the following conditions of the call:
to have the possibility of production or co-production of media content in the area primarily, but not exclusively, in a maximum of 10 local self-government units, namely: Banja Luka, Bijeljina, Gracanica, Laktasi, Ljubuski, Nevesinje, Olovo, Sarajevo-Stari Grad, Tesanj, Zenica;
demonstrate/show previous experiences in performing media projects, and the advantage is in the field of gender equality or women’s leadership.
have a positive business in 2019.
operate for at least two years until the date of application for this call.
Prove the existence of conditions for fulfilling the obligations that would arise from the implementation of the project proposal.
