Early Grant Information for NGOs
The goal of this grant program is to challenge artists inspired by the recent social movement to give voices to all; to celebrate and highlight multiculturalism and inclusiveness; and to find creative ways to promote a spirit of unity and dialog through artistic expression.
Scope and Expectations
Projects/activities must take place in Glendale and/or be presented to Glendale.
Residents/audiences between May 1, 2021, and June 30, 2022.
Projects must be free and open to all participants.
Project proposals may feature a single artistic discipline or maybe multi- or cross-disciplinary in nature and may include work from the performing, visual, media, design, and literary arts.
If the applicant’s proposed project is dependent on a partner(s) for placement or presentation (venue, school, organization, agency, city park, recreation facility, community center, amphitheater, library, etc.), you must complete a “Partnership Agreement Form” for each partner.
Proposals should speak directly to topics of equity, multiculturalism and unity. Project proposals may, but are not limited to, addressing the following:
Celebrate creativity through the shared and diverse cultural heritage;
Invite a dialogue that fosters mutual respect for people of diverse backgrounds;
Broadening understanding of ourselves as individuals and as a cohesive society.
Projects may include, but are not limited to:
Visual, performing or literary arts residencies or collaborative work with communities/schools;
Workshops or panel discussions;
Installations, exhibits or murals;
Pop-up arts events;
Concerts or Performances.

Eligibility Criteria
Open to Arizona artists, artist teams (at least one member of the team must be based in Arizona), art organizations and schools.
Applicant(s) must be 18 years and older.
The applicant(s) must be experienced and qualified in the artistic medium/media of the proposed project.
All individuals who may be in direct contact with minors must possess a valid State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card. If selected, applicant(s) will be asked to provide the Fingerprint Clearance Card number for verification.
